The Oughterard Community Partnership (OCP) is a local, voluntary, non-political group made up of residents of the community of Oughterard. This group first formed in the mid 1990s and was originally called the Oughterard Community Council. The purpose of the OCP is to act as a representative voice for the community, and recognise and support any initiative or activity that may have a benefit for the community. It supports sustainable endeavours in order to promote business, social and enterprise opportunities in the community. All members of the community, interest groups, clubs, associations and societies are invited to be represented.
The OCP provides the support structure for the Oughterard Community Playground Group and also operates a group insurance scheme for voluntary community groups, which currently provides substantial cost savings for public liability insurance cover. The OCP also provides support to the Derroura Mountain Bike Trail Upgrade and Expansion Project to be located at Derroura near Oughterard.
The current committee members are: Eoin Bresnihan, Orla Baxter, Patrick Faherty, Mary Kelly, Justin Keogh and Heather Watson.
